Last year's Wave Web Winner contest discovered seven young IT wizards. To redefine the search for such talents, the fourth annual Wave Web Winner will be held next month. Best Site – User Friendliness, Ujwal Thapa, a professional multimedia specialist won this award. He was running Digital Max Solutions when he participated in the contest and is still doing the same. Says Thapa, "Over the past year, my expertise has developed and I've learnt to handle people."
Best Site – Content, Indira Sharma, a teacher by profession, won this category for her site which promoted Nepali women and things that female visitors would love to read. She still teaches at an institute in Pokhara.
Best Site – Visual Appeal, Shrijit Rajbhandari was doing his A-levels when he participated and won this category. A self-taught whiz, Shrijit wants to study graphic designing.
Editor's Choice Award, Kailash Gyawali, graphic designer, who took home this prize, is now working on FREESTYLE, an e-magazine. Kailash's site has a lot of stuff on graphics such as poster and screensavers.
Best Site – Technicality, Chandra Man Maharjan took this award for his site www.multimedia.com.np/cmans, which had an interesting classic design. He is a senior designer and developer at Digital Max Solutions and is passionate about 3Ds.
And the WAVE Web Winner award went to two talented brothers Prajjwal and Prasanna Shakya. Their site called Kathmandu College Directory had a big list of colleges in Kathmandu. The site also featured games (eg Hangman), typing tutor, and many presentations. The Shakya brothers are graduates and have taken many IT courses.
