Swim Fashion Week 2012 Miami, there was a lot of swim-spiration - everything from high-waist two-pieces, teeny strings, cut-outs, metallic, scarf-like prints and sheer cover-ups in animal motifs. Sexy doesn't necessarily mean itsy-bitsy yellow polka dot bikini. With that said, let's explore the 'New Sexy' trends in swimwear. Take cover Whether you're walking to and from the car or lounging by the poolside, a cover-up in the form of either a kaftan or a sarong can come in really handy. Opt for bright colors, tribal prints, color blocking, stripes and floral. Retro swimwear Bring out your inner pin-up girl with vintage inspired swim wear. Get an updated version on the 40's one piece or a stylish 60's inspired high waist bikini. This style is more forgiving for your waistline, hiding that unwanted flab while keeping a sophisticated look. Don't be afraid to try floral, color blocking solids or nautical. Where to find them? You can get them anywhere from Guess, to online stores like www.modcloth.com and eBay. Monokini Cool cutouts may not be very practical for scoring a tan but it is a definite head turner. This style is my personal favorite. It gives the best of both worlds; sexy without the barely-there exposure of a bikini, or the motherly one-piece look.
