By now most of us know what to expect from a Sajid Khan film- a starry cast, scantily clad eye candies, dim witted humour, foreign locations, and an item song to complete the package. In this regard, House Full 2 doesn't disappoint. It has all the components of its prequel that raked in major moolahs and shockingly turned out to be one of the major blockbusters of 2010. But in trying to outdo the prequel he directed, Khan has come up with a comedy that is too stupid even for its mad cap genre. However, by the roars of laughter that I heard in the theatre, I believe my opinion will be shared by few.

The film is about two warring half-brothers (Randhir and Rishi Kapoor) who want to get their daughters (Asin and Jacqueline Fernandez)  married to the richest bachelor in London who happens to be a business tycoon JD's (Mithun Chakravorthy)  son, Jolly (Ritesih Deshmukh) who is already in love with full figured model JLo (Zarine Khan). Wait, that's not all. The makers in their attempt to keep the audiences captivated throughout the 3 hr long and not too pleasant ride, have thrown in more characters than it can fit the frame and numerous sub-plots (enmity between John and Akshay, Shreyas Talpade's revenge, JD's past and so on) beating Indian soaps in the game of twists and turns.

If you have seen House Full, you will know the quality of humour that Khan presents.  There are lines like, 'Langoors, have my angoors',  a sequence where Shreyas Talpade's crotch is being sucked by a python and Riteish Deshmukh bitten on the bum by a crocodile and just when you think things can't get even worse, we are shown Mithun Chakravorthy romancing a midget maid.  Yes, I did laugh but sparingly. Yesteryear's baddie Ranjeet has been given a fun cameo playing a the-rapist.

Performance wise, as usual Akshay does well. This type of movies being his forte, Akshay helps to carry the movie with his comic timings and complementing him is Riteish Deshmukh who is a natural and doesn't disappoint with his acting. Talpade is underutilised and has very limited scenes while  John puts on a dismal performance so do the four female leads whose inflated lips took too much of my attention to notice their performance.

At 2 hours and 45 mins, House Full 2 feels incredibly long.  There are many unnecessary scenes and the climax is a torture. By snipping those, House Full 2 might have been more tolerable and maybe even an enjoyable one-time watch.
