Dear WAVE

FROM ISSUE # 197 (May 2012) | IN THIS ISSUE
REFER TO FRIEND PRINT THIS ARTICLE

I returned to Kathmandu after 9 years and the first thing I did amongst my necessary shopping was to get the recent issue of WAVE.I was surprised; my teenage matte magazine has gone glossy and thicker. It has become more realistic with regular women on the cover page than professional models. I am surprised to find there are women in theatre too and the young writer of 'MONIKA' impressed me...thank you WAVE 4 such inspiring interviews. Lastly the poem on the back was heart touching....well done WAVE people!

Congratulations on your excellent work, WAVE. I have been reading WAVE since the last two years. I really appreciate the way you organised the themes into ONE, especially the integration of social activities which have taken place in remote areas of Nepal.Congrats once again and keep it up!

The April Issue was awesome but it still has some rooms for improvement. It would be wonderful to see 'CLICK' section back again, articles on latest technology and gadgets,  sports and adventure related articles.

Thanks WAVE for featuring young, upcoming Tattoo artists. It was nice to see unknown talents being featured as opposed to artists who are regularly covered in the media. Hope to read more on tattooing in future issues.

I loved reading about the efforts of different people and organisations who are working towards bettering society with their initiatives. It is encouraging to read such positive stories. Keep them coming WAVE.

Dear Wave,  Let me just start by letting you guys know that I LOVE YOU PEOPLE.

I started reading WAVE because of my sister who now is 24 and is in Australia. She used to bring home an issue of WAVE every month and lock herself in the room and read it. Me being a curious kid, I would sneak up to her room and read it, as I thought WAVE was something so extraordinary that my sister needed to hide it in her room.

I'm 16 now and what I truly wanted to write to you was about how you always make me feel so normal yet in a special way. I know it's supposed to be the other way around, I think? But, you see I'm the weird one among my friends.

My mum just bought me an issue of April's Wave, and the To-Do-List that you guys have this month, I have done half of those things for which my friends have taunted me with eye rolls that clearly imply 'you've got to be kidding'.

You guys should have included 'Go Hippie around Thamel for a Day'. This just happens to be my favourite thing to do. There are some things that I'm not old enough to do though. But I shall soon have a check mark on those too. I wish I could hang out with you people for then I would be the normal one just for once.

The reason why I love Wave so much is because of its content. It's not just about celebrities yapping about BE YOURSELF all the time, it's because you guys are yourselves and you appreciate life on your own terms, with no crowds to please. But, at the same time, there are so many people you are pleasing. One more reason why I love you guys is because you guys are the main reason for my love for writing. I hope after my studies, I too would be a part of WAVE, being NORMAL with you guys.
