Love is something that has kept us all alive and goes beyond humans, even animals' love and with the kind of commercialization that's been going on, I feel animals have now overtaken us and have become better expressing oneself. Kudos to the author for bringing out this simple yet thought provoking fact to the foray. Cheers!

Comment: Symbols have allowed us to express complex concepts, like those of math and science, and like love. Cupid, the son of Venus and Mars, is well known. Hearts, roses, rings, knots, flowers - and diamonds, all are part of the symbolic language of love. To me, a pure expression of love comes from the creation of something special - like the lace doily valentine cards we made as kids. Something that comes from the heart, not the wallet.
