Image Channels started morning transmissions from Nepal Television before introducing KATH 97.9 FM to the Valley. Then they launched an independent TV channel, which has entertained the metro for three years. Now, with Shangrila Channel's license, Image Channels is broadcast through satellite. At a programme organised to celebrate the FM's eighth anniversary, RK Manandhar, proprietor of Image Channels, said, "Even through FM, we've reached out to half the nation." Besides the Valley, KATH is aired in Pokhara, Bhedetar and Janakpur.
