How important is it to be politically aware? Do you think its necessary to be involved?
Alisha: As much as I think its important to be politically aware, I do not think it is necessary to be involved in it, at least directly. We need to fulfil our duties to the state and make aware the politicians of anything wrongly.
Aasuthosh: It is important. We are the ones to make difference. And I think the students unions at campuses are actually a good start of that.
Sushmita: I don't think a person solely can make a difference but it is from oneself that change begins. Politics is just one of the many ways to do that. Begin from yourself.
Sovit: I am not interested in politics. I believe in the well being of an individual and I strive to pursue that. In doing that I may be politically inclined but I do not participate in it directly.
Shiva: I feel the same way as Sovit.

What is your take on the postponement of the drafting of the constitution?

Aashutosh: It was inevitable. Now that the deadline is extended by a year I hope the CA members comes out with something that can guarantee the well-being of each and everyone in the country.
Sushmita: This postponement has caused irreparable damage to the country. And nothing can justify it.

Were you at the peace rally on 7 May? How effective are these movements at an individual level?

Shiva: We set out for the rally but we were stopped.
Sovit: No I didn't. But I think it is effective, at least the rally was.
Ashutosh: It is effective. No matter what the maoists said, it was because of the power of the people that they called off the bandh.

As students, what is the least you can do in the on going scenario? Any of you interested in joining politics?

Aashutosh: Well we can start off by not being happy about strikes and bandhs. In the beginning it may have been fun to get a 'surprise' holiday once in a while but expressing happiness over these unnecessary days off now, is highly immature. And no, I have no interest in joining politics.
Shiva: Read the papers and if that isn't enough read material online. The worst thing to be at this crucial point is ignorant. Helpless we may be as youth, but we need to be knowledgeable.
Alisha: About joining politics, well the ones that are in it have made such a mess of our country that no many really wants to be involved in the system anymore, at least not directly.

What is your idea of the ideal government?

Aashutosh: In my opinion the old generation should give way to younger, more clear-headed minds. Hari Bansha and Madan Krishna could definitely lead a government.
Sovit: (Laughs) I agree with that. The MaHa Jodi have actually done so much more to show they care about this country than have any of the politicians. And not just through speech but through their stage shows, TV serials and other medium. They are the real citizens of this country.
Sushmita: A government that provides its citizens with at least the most basic needs, food, shelter and education is what an ideal government it. I would like to see younger leaders like Gagan Thapa have a bigger role in the politics.

I hate politics game ,there is no resolution at all .Only the sufferer are publics and politicians are bad players "Destroyer" .What they promise all fake.Save NEPAL That is it.Peace

Politics is actually a mess. However, this is not an excuse for the youths to take their responsibilities out towards the country.Everybody wants to pursue happy family life.Remember your initiation might let ur next generations pursue a happy family life than ur living today.

3. Jamir, USA
Politics itself is not bad game but the bad players ruined its image. Nobody wants to be politicians because of adverse situation created in the country but if the intellectual persons try to stay away from politics then it will never be in good hands and the country will suffer prolong.

I don't think that there is something to hate about politics. Wat I hate is ourselves getting into politics so early. We individually, know politics better than anyone. And of course, the media should be controlled. The authority is not functional. There is no law and order. Wat can we expect from the current system? Before republic, we were under cautious and now, we are over cautious. Lets consider this as a part of our new nepal campaign which is pushing us backward.

I agreed with Jamir! definatly politics itself is not bad but the leader/politician are greedy and alawys look after money/power only. There are non of the leader/politician think about nation and public. Actually, every individual should be aware about the political matter and need to follow rules and regulation of the nation by seriously and strickly. It's sad people says easily but no one impliment in their life. However, if we are not starts from ourself(myself)individually otherthan our problem will unsolved. Therefore, guys let's contribute individually how much we can! and should proved the saying"Na sodha desh le k diyo bhani..! gar desh ko lagi jati sakchau timi" Thanks all :)

politics is the thing that starts right from your home where your parents have to involve in different diplomatic works for the family.to talk about our leaders they talk something in front of public and another during their meet .now nepali politics is being a joke.it just gets right with the proverb that too many cook spoils the food
