Last month's Where in Nepal is this? is the picture of Jumla seen from the Tila Valley with Kanjiroba Himal looming in the distance. The Tila Valley is fertile and wide, and could, with proper irrigation and better productivity, grow enough grain to feed the whole Karnali region. Historically, Jumla and the adjoining valley of Sinja have great significance, and it is also the area from where Nepal's Brahmins and Chhetris travelled eastwards after Prithvi Narayan Shah's conquests.
