You share practically every detail of your life with them, take their suggestions as the verdict, do the naughtiest of deeds under the nose of your parents. But while loving them so dearly how can you forget the painful time they blurted out your crush's name in your family gathering or took your oh-so-expensive-shoes right before your night out.  Wait, just before you decide to wring their necks recalling those moments read the sibling stories below!

Participants:
Sanju (youngest child)
Ashwin Wagle (only child)
Akar Man Singh and Aastha Singh (siblings)
Kishor Ghimire and Sujata Ghimire (siblings)

If your sister is in a tearing hurry to go out and cannot catch your eye, she's wearing your best sweater.  ~ Pam Brown

Sanju: My friends often question me, "How many shoes do you have!" to which I give a self satisfied smirk and reply, "I have two sisters." Indeed, borrowing clothes must be one of the top three benefits of having same sex siblings. And the list stretches to costly cosmetics, fancy bags and
many-many more.

To be the youngest amongst three sisters has its own set of pros and cons. Being the baby of the family, more often than not, I get away with many things. To point one out, towards the end of my vacations, my sisters are up till late at night helping me complete the holiday assignments, without their help, I'd probably take more than a month to complete it.

But again, it's not always fun and games. The youngest one is bossed around the most. Like say, to make errands or for simple things like turning off the gas or switching off the lights.

The word sibling originated from the archaic English word sibb, meaning kinsman. And the brother-sister duo, Kishor and Sujata, embody the goody-good relationship between kinsmen.

Kishor: The best part about having a sibling is that they'll not let you go around being a fashion-disaster. I might think the Mohawk looks absolutely cool on me but I might be looking ridiculously ugly, and no one can make such things as much clear to you as your sibling can.

Besides, having a didi also means that I will surely be on the 'right track' all the time. She is always keeping an eye on me and I get reprimanded immediately for doing something wrong.

Sujata
(the elder one): I like how he makes me recall things I'd studied in the previous year when I help with his assignments. In a way, it makes me sharper.

And he also helps me to loosen up a bit. If it weren't for him, I'd be listening to rather dull music and I would probably never learn how to play the guitar.

Ashwin:
We're often stereotyped as being anti-social and selfish, but in reality we're not much different from our peers. In fact, if you actually think of it we're probably more social than others because we make an effort to have more outside friends and not limit our interactions with siblings only.

But I rely much on my cousin for the kind of influence an elder sibling has on a person. From influencing my taste in music to encouraging me to learn to play the guitar to even shaping my aim to be an aeronautical engineer. And it is with him that I share most.

I do wish I'd a sibling at times, especially in Tihar. But well, it's only for a minute or so that I feel bad, the freedom that comes with being the only child overcomes every other thing.
The best thing about having a sister is that you always have a friend. ~ Cali Rae Turner

Akar:
If you have a sibling, you will seldom be by yourself. Anytime you need someone to talk to, you'll have an attentive ear, anytime you're forced to stay home, you'll have an instant friend. Basically, life becomes a little easier with a sibling around.

But when you're the senior, you've got more responsibilities than your junior counterpart. In fact, I'm in charge of everything my sister does. It's said to be my fault when she screws up her grades or even when she chats endlessly on the phone; indeed, the elder one is always expected to keep tabs on the younger one.

Aastha:
It's as good as a treat to have someone give you a ride when you need it the most, and who better than your own bother. Dropping and picking me from one place to another even at odd times is something I cherish the most.

Besides, he helps me a lot with mathematics. Because I'm more of a writing person, exponents and logarithms aren't exactly my cup of tea, and a little bit of help from him works like wonders. But time and again he gets on my nerves. He hardly ever does any chores; to be very honest, he literally doesn't lift a finger at home!
