The most dreadful month in the whole year. Not because of Valentine's Day, there is nothing wrong about staying single. It's not because of Shivaratri (I abstain from you know what, so should you), it's not even because I've become too old for Holi. It's because there are only 28 days in February. That means less time to prepare, lesser time to work, and even less time to sit down and think.
Its March I know, but we as a monthly magazine, are trained to think a month ahead. It's the first week of March but we are already thinking April. Its knackering, how much coordination and plan goes on for even a simple write up. Things go wrong at the last minute, lights go on and off without your knowledge, you lose your work and sanity for a moment but you soldier on.
But the hard work pays off when you hold the copy of the latest issue hot off the press. You get an instant satisfaction, an instant recharge that fuels you up to work for the next issue.
This issue we bring you five artists to watch (pg 20-28). These new clan of artists are young, brash and unapologetic, yet all of them are distinctively Nepali. And they sing about everything, not jsut love. Young Ideas this month is about siblings. Read a bunch of young kids talk about this cherished relationship.
Anyway, as you read this piece and the magazine, we will be working our ass off (again) for the next issue. But thank god for March, it has 31 days.
