At the height of success of their debut album Rush, The Uglyz made a decision to not come forth with their next album just for the sake of being in the news. A sort of pact, a unanimous decision from all band members.

Rush talked about love, the track Audai Jadai, with its sweet melancholia was a massive hit and the same success followed with the following singles. After four years, one album and several hits later, the stakes are even higher. "Rush is a benchmark," says Sarun, "we've created this monster that comes back to haunts us," he adds, referring to the pressure set by the success of Rush.

However, the second album, tentatively titled In Transit, will have plenty of good songs to 'compensate' for its late release.

In Transit will talk about love, relationship, friendship and the situation of Nepal.

"Things have changed since Rush for all of us and our priorities have changed. There were a few things that I personally wanted to get off my chest. So a few songs could be baffling in terms of lyrics," warns Sarun. Even with all the band members separated geographically, the album is starting to take shape.

"Working separately is very difficult," says Sarun, "I have broken many things at home out of frustration and sometimes even argued with loved ones."

Sarun and his band members use the site dropbox.com to upload and download bits and pieces of their songs. But he says that it's just not the same. "I would write the lyrics and wish that the others were there to help me complete a sentence. And after I'd put those words into a song, I would wish that my band members were there to play it for me so I could hear how it could sound different. On the flip side," he adds, "I've used those experiences to write more songs."

Asked where he gets his inspiration to write, Sarun replies self-effacingly: "Every episode in life influences me to write songs. I'm not a brilliant writer but I do write what I feel."

The Uglyz is hoping to create the same magic they'd created with Rush. In Transit will be out later this year.
