Mobiles for Everyone
Nokia 5230 Nokia 5230 may not be game changing as the godly device from the coveted fruit but it is every bit as functional. Running on a Symbian OS, this touchscreen smartphone from Nokia is pure class. The headliner feature, the 360 x 640 pixels, 3.2 inch touchscreen is responsive and gorgeous to look at. Usual suspect like GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a two megapixel camera are thrown in. The only gripe is the absence of WiFi. Anyway, don't get too touchy-feely with it; don't tell us that we didn't warn you. User says Dealer says MOTOROLA Motorola A45 Motorola Motocubo A45 Eco is a slider cell phone with QWERTY keypad designed to keep young users connected with their relationship networks. The 'Eco' label comes from the fact that the phone is made from recycled and corn-based materials, so if you're in the market for a text-centric backup phone, this might just be an interesting option that won't keep you up at night thinking about the environmental destruction you've caused. This Motorola cell phone enables easy access to sites such as Orkut and Facebook from any location. Motorola A45 works only on GSM and EDGE network, has a 2MP camera, FM radio with RDS, music player, bluetooth, microSD expansion and more. User says Dealer says SPICE MOBILE Spice D-6666 allows the users to go dual mode, either GSM/CDMA or GSM/GSM. This stylish phone comes with a 2MP camera with flash light and can double up as a webcam. It also has MP3 Player and FM record. And its Stereo Bluetooth feature eliminates the clutter of wires so one can enjoy superior audio quality on the phone itself. It has a 4 GB expandable memory card allowing one to carry music, pictures and other cool stuff everywhere. Another special feature is its big screen to give the users a one of its kind visual delight. I like the convenience of having two SIM cards in one device. I use the CDMA Sky phone and also NTC's prepaid card. I'm happy with my Spice D-6666. Dealer says Too dumb for a Smartphone? What is a smartphone? Do I need one? How do I make the most of it? SAMSUNG Samsung Corby Hot, young and social, describes the Samsung Corby. Samsung's low-budget-meets-high-end phone is perky, bright and young. With brightly coloured interchanageable backplates and an aptly smooth touchscreen, Samsung Corby is currently the talk of the town. The Corby is simple, easy-to-use, slim and lets its colourful backplates do most of the talking. User says Samsung Corby is fun. You have to see it in person to see how good it looks. And I love the touchscreen! Dealer says BLUE MOBILE Bleu 575z Bleu is an aspiring Indian brand, recently introduced in Nepal and is best for users that look for something simple and functional. Bleu 575z has all the essentials: an MP3 player, an expandable memory up to 4GB, FM, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, video recording, GPRS, and more. User says I don't know why I settled for the Bleu 575z as it is a relatively unknown brand but I don't regret it. Competitively priced with a great set of features, I'd recommend it to anyone, any day. Dealer says ALCATEL Alcatel One Touch Tribe OT 800 Alcatel One Touch Tribe OT 800 is a chic QWERTY keyboard phone. Dealer says Mobile Terminology GPRS/EDGE: Standard for internet connectivity on a mobile phone. Both the service providers have this feature. GSM/CDMA: Standards for mobile communication. Nepal Telecom and Mero Mobile is a GSM network, UTL and Sky phone is a CDMA network. A CDMA phone does not work on a GSM network and vice versa. 3G: Another standard for mobile internet, 3G is for faster internet speed, needed for video calling and streaming. Nepal Telecom has a limited 3G coverage within Kathmandu. Push email: A service that is used to 'push' or send your email directly to your phone without the need to re-check new mails every once in a while. This service is network-dependent.
