As I sit down to write my last editorial, my mind's blank but that's nothing new :) WAVE has gone through many phases in its past 15 years of success and this change is just one of them.
I joined WAVE at a time when everything for me was going terribly wrong and this seemed like a viable option. Somewhat it was Facebook that led me to WAVE. I met Shitu di (Editor at the time) on Facebook chat one evening and WAVE was looking for writers. She asked whether I would be interested in writing, something I had never done before - professional writing. The only thing I was good at was blabbering in front of a microphone.
But when I came to meet her, intrigued with the job I joined instantly not knowing my stay with WAVE would be life changing.
Joining the magazine as a staff writer and then being promoted to Editorial Coordinator was a proud moment for me. WAVE has helped Nepali youth around the world connect to themselves and keep them updated with the latest, be it politics, gadget, music, sports and much more. Writing for WAVE has been an experience that will stay with me forever and I am all thankful to Shitu di for believing in me, Anup dai for always standing by my side and my publisher for being supportive all the way through, but a big thank you goes to you for keeping WAVE where we were and where we are today, at the top.
WAVE, with love and support from you, will always be the leading youth magazine of Nepal and will withstand any change. I wouldn't say this is my last issue because I'm always there for the publication and my support stays with it.
Cheers!
