"AIDS lageko manche sanga kasari basne hola, mata basdina thiye hola," said a friend of mine while talking about AIDS awareness as we sipped tea, taking in the warmth of the sun in the chilly morning. This is the attitude that many people with HIV/AIDS face, mostly because there is no cure for it, only drugs that will slow down the virus. In essence, they are labelled 'untouchables' in our society. As if life wasn't hard enough for those with the condition, we make it even harder with our prejudices. But times have changed and so have people's perceptions of HIV/AIDS. WAVE marks World AIDS day this month and talks to people working to raise awareness . Winter has surely arrived and layers of clothing are in full swing, with colourful mufflers and high necks in evidence around our city. Expect even chillier mornings and evenings in the coming months. Know how to spend the lazy December days (pg. 58) and if it's fashion you're worried about, well, we're here to give you the best. Fashion being an integral part of our lives, we give you winter fashion and tips on how you should dress this winter and look cool so you don't just pile on layer after layer without caring that you might end up looking like a stuffed doll. It has been a tiring month but, as always, an interesting one, with ideas coming from our readers via email and letters. What you think of the magazine and what you want is always our top priority. The leading youth magazine of Nepal wants to hear the thoughts of the youth today. Zoom that email away to us or post it on our Facebook fanpage. Have a great winter shopping and keep those heavy, blown up clothes away. You don't want to look like a balloon. Happy winter days! Pravat
