Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre (KAT) celebrated Kukur Tihar on 17 October. On the occasion was present, Jan Salter (founder), Dr. Baburam Guatum (General Secretary), Linda Sherpa, (one of their oldest supporters), a student group from 'Where there be Dragons', USA and the entire KAT Centre team. Located in Budanilkantha, this non-profit organisation has been dedicated to the humane management of street dogs in Kathmandu since 2004 through Animal Birth Control (ABC) programs, anti rabies vaccination, rescue services and public education. Till date, they have spayed 7,819 streets dogs and 2,675 others have been rescued and treated.
