KNOW ALL
Rajesh payal Rai Everything you wanted to know about him but didn’t know who to ask by SUBEKSHA POUDEL
From shelling out a crazy sum of Rs 15,000 just to enter a disco to painting an ornate dragon in his room, Rai is larger-than-life and describes himself as being his own boss. As a child in his little village in Buipa in Khotang, he loved singing every song that he heard on the radio. And now as an adult, he derives inspiration from eminent singers like Kishore Kumar and Narayan Gopal. Feels that he has given his possible best in the song, Nisthuri lai maya gari from the album Baiguni Rahechau. Follows latest fashion trends of Hong Kong and for more casual occasions, he enjoys dressing in a way that is not just comfortable but suits him just as well. Finds it ridiculous when guys wear Indian style kurtas, and feels that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal SERIOUSLY needs a fashion consultant. Is most shy when he is talking to people of the opposite sex. And finds it extremely difficult to forgive those who repeat their mistakes. If he could be someone else for a day, he'd wish to be a reporter and interview Rajesh Hamal and enlighten us about the handsome bachelor's love-life and marriage plans. Reads motivational and inspirational books in the little free time he gets. Likes the autobiography of Nelson Mandela and books on Buddhism. Is proud of how he has always followed his heart and reached unprecedented heights in his 16-year-long music career. Normally records two to three songs a day and sometimes goes up to eight. Is dejected with the current politics and disconsolately says, "Today's parties are just selfish and uncooperative, only pulling each other's legs." Hopes that our youth will give priority to the nation over their personal lives. And with all the love he gets, is expecting his new albums, Darshan Namaste and Rai is King to become big hits. Through his own experience, he strongly suggests people to never smoke or drink. "The fun (and hangover) is just not worth all the expense and harm it does to your health", he adds.
