Bijay Gajmer, 24
Photojournalist

Being a photojournalist by profession, the Nikon D50 camera is always in Bijay's bag pack. He also carries the ubiquitous Apple iPod and prefers a simple Nokia mobile set. While travelling on assignments, he takes along his Hasee laptop and a CDMA modem for internet connectivity.'

Badri Khadka, 21
Student

Badri carries his Toshiba Satellite laptop to college everyday. For internet, he carries a CDMA modem. His Sony Cybershot camera is always with him, as well just in case. He is one of those people who prefer listening to music on his Nokia phone. 

Bishnumaya Magar, 40
Street Vendor

For street vendor Bishnumaya, her AM/FM Radio is the main source of entertainment and news. She always carries her cell phone with her. And yes, Bishnumaya knows what an iPod is.

Ashish Subedi, 22
Student

An IT student, Ashish uses his Sony Vaio laptop for typing papers and doing researches. To kill time at commute, he listens to his iPod nano. He also uses his Sony Ericsson phone for browsing internet. Strangely, his Sony HD Handycam is always in his bag pack.

Dan, 29
Tourist

For a tourist, it's all about travelling light. Dan here from China, uses a Cannon 450D camera. Interestingly, she also carries a second Sony Cybershot camera for capturing more casual shots. Also in her backpack is a MP3 player, and a Motorola phone she uses to be connected with her family back home.

Quick Fact

Most girls and women didn't carry anything in their bags, other than a cell phone. WAVE approached several female passers-by in Basantapur one Saturday afternoon. Many of them didn't see the need to carry bulky gadgets in their bags. Almost all of them felt that a cell phone was enough.
