10reasons why you shouldn’t get an iPhone by MALIN GURUNG
2 There are no 3G networks in Nepal. Why pay for the unnecessary incentive. 3 This thing doesn't even let you send multimedia messages. A Rs 5,000 phone can let you do that! 4 The App store and iTunes store doesn't work in Nepal. Even downloading free applications and songs requires credit-card authentication. 5 Browsing over the cellular network costs a bomb and you can't have WiFi wherever you go. 6 The Bluetooth is crippled. You can't share music and photos over it, so it's practically useless. 7 What's the use of the 'amazing multimedia capabilities' and the 'desktop class browsing' when the ttery doesn't last even for a few hours. And you can't even change the battery by yourself. 8 The 2 MP camera is worthless. Similar priced counterparts has 3 to 5 MP cameras with better abilities. 9 Maps is useless in Nepal. The only thing it lets you do is to see your house from the space. Get Google Earth on your desktop instead. 10 Limited storage and non-expansive memory means limited iPod capabilities. Get the iPod touch instead for more storage and better battery life.

Damn good reasons!!! Nepal is not yet ready for full functioning of an iphone. Its nice but less useful in context of Nepal. So,those who are blindly emptying their pockets must think about it. Posted on:

"There are no 3G networks in Nepal" I think this is not the correct statement. NT has started 3G network since one year back. Its expanding its 3G network outside the valley too. I agree that the cost is really high. Posted on:

I used iPhone in Nepal during my 10 days visit recently. Though there is limited network coverage, it worth me because I don't have to take my laptop with me which can be kinda hassle while traveling... Posted on:

There is actually a work-around for reason number 4. Just google 'open free itunes account without credit card.' It's a fairly simple process that lets you download free games, apps, music and other goodies from iTunes store. Posted on:

I have been using iPhone for a year. It is not useless if you know where to download the stuff. Besides I could download with the app store from Nepal but I just got my phone software so I have to rediscover how to download. Many of the stuff you mentioned may be true for a lot of cases but u cannot brand it that way. The use of iPhone varies across users all over the world. Try this site. Www.apullo.us. I m not sure about the spelling. Google it. Use iTunes to install. Ofcourse iPhone functions can't be used but thanks to hacks the phone has value again. iPhone is much better than bb but maybe I would go for an htc if the touch was better Posted on:

Iphone-- Hmm.. who used it once knows the value of it. It's like riding a Rolls Royce compared to other -- Toyota's. Besides, Nepali's who are in Nepal should realise that it must not be TOY. It's more functions that Berries & Nokia with over 30000+ apps to download. Beat that.. and in Nepal-- Khassa ko saman is great, hoina ra? QUANTITY RULES! Duh! Posted on:
