On Her Knees? by PRAVAT J GURUNG
1 Guys can be really emotional and feel exposed in overwhelming emotional situations. So when you choose a location to propose, choose a place that is not too crowded. The idea of proposing to a guy in the middle of a conversation is not a bad idea. Some actually like that! 2 Give him a red rose. Yup, guys love flowers too. Guys are usually like a coconut, soft from the inside. So this Valentine's Day, give him a bouquet of flowers with a sweet and simple message. Believe me, it will do the trick! 3 Make it memorable. A guy loves to be flattered as much as girls do. So propose in a special way. Make it a memorable one. Propose to him in a place that he is emotionally attached to. Maybe the first spot where you both met or went for a first date? 4 Propose to him in the most romantic way ever. It may be old but it still does the trick. Invite him for lunch or dinner, pop in a ring in his drink (soft drink of course!) and propose to him as he takes that last sip. Just make sure he doesn't gulp the ring down and choke. Now that would be a disaster! 5 Whichever method you use, do not look too desperate for him to say yes. Some guys are not too enthusiastic about being in a relationship and can run away faster than a cheetah to escape the situation. Go smooth, steady and don't be too pushy about it. Make sure all the elements are aligned perfectly and then shoot. Guys will be guys! 2. There is literally no difference in a guy and a child. They want to be taken care of. So don't get mad if your boy acts like a child. 3. Being over-protective is a guy thing. Ignore it. 4. No matter how mad you are with your guy, never say anything appalling about his mom. 5. Guys can get easily bored with a relationship and detach himself from it. Commitment in a relationship means a lot but sometimes the brain goes out of order like an ATM machine. Talking it out is the best way! A BIG NO! 2. Never forget your manners while proposing. You don't want to be chewing gum or eating something while you propose, do you? 3. Proposing in front of a large crowd is not exactly a good idea as the answer might be NO. You don't want to embarrass yourself and the other person. And it's more of a personal thing. 4. Do not propose to someone just for the heck of it. You don't want to regret later. Don't just go with the flow. Think about it. Getting into a relationship is a big commitment in itself. Things to look out for: 2. Don't propose in public before a big crowd if you aren't sure that's what she wants. Otherwise, it could be an embarrassing moment for both of you. 3. Don't sound whiny or act like you are doing her a big favour. A commitment requires equal partners. 4. Make the moment as memorable as you can. Details do matter and girls will be telling the story of how you proposed to their grandchildren. 5. The words "I love you" may be over-used and over-hyped, but that's exactly what every girl wants to hear. Don't forget these words when you are proposing.
Saying it right… 1 No matter how much people say this generation has changed, no girl can resist the classical, traditional way to propose–long, stemmed red roses, dim candle lights. Some even like it when her guy goes down on one knee as he says the magic words. Boys, this way can never go wrong. 2 Another way not to go wrong is to do it under the stars. Take her out for dinner, be playful and suggest an evening drive to somewhere quiet. If you want to go all out, learn a bit about constellations and as you share the most interesting bit of information, tell her how you feel. 3Take her to the spot where you first met or to her favourite spot, blindfolded and then propose there. Or pick her favourite hobby, for example if it is rock climbing, propose while climbing. 4 Adventure sports seem to be one of the most spontaneous ways to propose. Go bungee jumping together and scream out the words as you are suspended in the air. It's daring and adventurous and it shows her that life with you will never be boring or normal. 5 Go to Nagarkot or someplace else where you can see the most beautiful sunrise/sunset. Then, over a cup of coffee, tell her that you love her. Shradha Basnyat
