 ANIL STHAPIT
Born on 12 April in Sangha, Bijay is a laid-back and easygoing person who can make friends easily.

Though perceived by the media as an arrogant person, he is actually the total opposite. Always happy and jolly, it's really hard for anything to make him feel low.

Not a very ambitious person, his plan in life is not to make any plans. Believes that the lesson learnt from the struggles one goes through is real success. "Life is in the journey, not the destination," he says.

His first stage performance was with his band The Five Heartbeats in 1995, which bagged them the Best Performance Award. But he only got recognition around 2002 as his prior attempts was widely panned.

Gets lots of attention from fans of the fairer sex. A female fan actually climbed up to the stage and hugged him for several minutes as she screamed his name madly at a concert in Pokhara. "I get a lot of marriage proposals too," he says blushingly.

Broke up just a few months ago from a very long and 'committed' relationship. Is single now but not so ready to mingle as he wants to spend some time alone.

Was deeply touched by the hospitality of Nepalis in the US during his 2006 US Tour. The tour has by far been the most unforgettable moment of his life but says that the greatest moment of his life is yet to come.

Cites an old band Wildfire as his musical inspiration and also adds that he would not have been here today without the moral and financial support of friend Rupen Shrestha.

Is not tempted by gadgets at all and believes that they should be reserved strictly for utility purposes. Uses his phone only for calling and sending some infrequent text messages.

A typical casual dresser, he is most comfortable in jeans and shirts. Dislikes suits and reserves them only for formal events.

Thinks that remixes are fine as long as the original essence of the song is not lost. In fact, has just finished shooting the video for a remix song remixed by DJ Yuva.

Is a typical daal-bhat person when it comes to food and is happy with anything he is served. Cooks rarely and loves to eat thukpa on cold days.
