This was the picture of the first-ever sky diving from above Mt Everest in October. The paraglider is coming in to land at Syangboche airport and the mountain in the background is Thamserku.

The skydivers jumped off a Pilatus Porter aircraft from nearly 9,000 m near the world's highest mountain and free fell for a few minutes before opening their chutes and paragliding down to Syangboche which is located at 3,883 m. For 10 days from 2 October to 12 October 2008, the plane took four skydivers at a time for the drops.

Thamserku, 6,608m, is the most prominent peak to be seen from Namchhe Bazar and is directly south of Syangboche. Signs of climate change are visible with clear indication of the Thamserku glacier having retreated at least 200m vertically up the mountain in the past 20 years.
Thamserku is linked to Kangtega by a fluted high ridge. The mountain's northern slopes are very steep, but access is easier from the eastern and southern Honku Basin side.
