It's been 60 years since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations. Today, more than half a century later, the world still needs a reminder. Several branches of the United Nations, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Alliance Française, and the folk music ensemble Kutumba have come together to celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The celebrations, which will start from 1-6 December at the Russian Cultural Centre with a final musical performance in Basantapur by Kutumba, encompasses an art exhibition and film screenings. However, Marty Logan, from OHCR, says that a lot more regional programs have been undertaken. "This event is only one example," he says. For further information visit www.alliancefrancaise.org.np.
