Whether you're a tech-enthusiast or just out on a hunt for a new computer, the question of Mac or PC being a better option must have slipped into your mind every once in a while. Backed by two solid rivals in the industry, Apple and Microsoft, these two computing platforms are similar yet very different. Hence, we decided to pitch a Mac against a PC in terms of the key aspects to make the decision easier for you.

Are you a PC or a Mac?

MAC   PC
One of the Mac's strongest points is its industrial design. From the pristine white MacBook to the shiny, metal-clad iMac, you will be proud to own one. Design Design is not a primary agenda for PC manufacturers. But if recent phenomenon of well designed PCs is anything to go by, they are certainly coming of age.
Mac has fewer software options, but there are very good alternatives. Apple has its own range of professional software and the bundled iLife suite of applications is designed for greater productivity right out of the box. Software We all know that software isn't exactly an issue for PCs. From freewares to pirated softwares (even the whole OS), everything is available widely.
Since Macs are manufactured exclusively by Apple, the product range is somewhat limited as compared to the vast arrays of PCs available. Versatility PCs come in every shapes and sizes to suit your need and your wallet accordingly.
Even the Mac mini, without any display or peripherals costs Rs 45,000. Enough said! cost The question with PC on the other hand is 'How low sdo you want to go?' A full-fledged PC can be assembled for as low as Rs15,000.
Other than popping in a new hard-drive or RAM, a Mac provides no other options for upgradability. If you want better graphics or processor, you have to buy a new Mac. Upgradability A PC can be customised to death. From installing a new graphics card to changing the whole processor, the possibilities are literally endless.
Every Mac is powered by Mac OS X; a no-nonsense, easy to use, robust operating system that works seamlessly with the hardware. The simplicity and stability makes Mac a winner all along. Ease of Use Don't even bother using Vista without an anti-virus software or a security package. Even the most advanced Windows OS is plagued by constant attacks.

1. Nischhal Pradhan, Thamel
mac may be the better of the two but pc is the overall winner among thhem

2. Tulashi Pahadi, Budhanagar
PC is better because we can change it eassily as per our requirement & PC's cost cheap.

3. europe rai,, london
as i have pc (sony vaio bz series) everything is within ur limit....acquiring a mac is just acquring a right hand car in the UK...

4. Gorkahli Hacker, Cyberspace
as per me Apple has a different target group like a musician, photographer etc. who wants reliability and security but people are just buying Mac to show off and they are not fully utilizing the features. as for a PC it is more customizable and upgradeable and cheap also so more general people are using it. for me i prefer PC as i use software that works on windows or Linux platform coz it is more fun to tweak and customize the windows and linux software.
