The Kathmandu Jazz Festival was held from 22 -27 October at various venues and was a huge success. The festival seemed to have touched many souls and got some interested in jazz. Suresh Limbu, band supervisor of Greg Lyon's Trio, said "I didn't like jazz music before but now I love it. I even got some new CD's to listen to." Abhaya Subba of Abhaya and the Steam Injuns said that she enjoyed and loved  Global Unity, the band hailing from Mumbai.

The event seemed to have a mixed crowd of youngsters, locals, foreigners and expats. Chhedup Bomzan, Director, Upstairs Ideas Pvt Limited, said that the festival is just seven-years-old and that it's got a long way to go and it's going to be better and bigger with time. WAVE was there for each performance and can't stop raving about music and the musicians, national and the international. You can also watch the event at www.nepalnews.com.np or listen to the Jazzmandu special podcast on www.motleymix.nepal.123.com.
