AMELIE
- When the topic turns to 'foreign films', you can be sure to bet that the first name dropped in the conversation will be Amelie. Amelie is a beautiful French movie that tells the story of Amelie, a quirky yet lovable character, who takes on the task of performing secret random acts of kindness.

OSAMA
- An Afghan original, Osama tells the story of the country under the rule of the Taliban. Laws against women walking around town alone forces one widowed doctor to dress her ten-year-old daughter as a boy for the sake of an escort. The story is a strikingly realistic look inside the fallen system.

PARADISE NOW
- One of the most important movies in world politics today, Paradise Now is co-created by an Israeli and a Palestinian so as not to be biased. Paradise Now dissects one of the world's most relevant conflicts today. The movie follows the last 24 hours of two young Palestinian men before they are supposed to embark on the mission of acting as suicide bombers in Tel Aviv.

BEAUTIFUL BOXER
- This Thai movie is the true story of Parinya Charoenphol, a graceful Muay Thai boxer. Charoenphol's unconventional nature shines as he takes the ring adorned in lipstick and flowers. The movie confronts one of the most prevalent gender issues in Thai society today as the boxer confronts her own sexuality when she decides to undergo a sex change operation.

Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN
- True to form, this Mexican movie is provocative, skin revealing and a raw look inside Mexican culture and its open view on sex. Two teenage boys set out on a summer road trip to a fictitious beach when they meet up with an older woman-Luisa. Luisa joins their journey and the three find themselves learning more than they ever would have imagined.

GOODBYE LENIN
- This German flick takes place in the months before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Just before communism collapses in East Germany, forcing the country to join West Germany under a capitalist system, a teenage boy's mother falls into a coma. When she wakes up, the boy and his sister do anything and everything to maintain the illusion of a communist society for their mother so as to avoid a shock-induced heart attack.

TSOTSI
- Set in post-apartheid South Africa, Tsotsi shows the very different lives of the rich and the poor throughout the country. Tsotsi, a young thug with a rough past, kidnaps a rich, young, baby, who ultimately softens him in ways never expected.
