A special screening of the documentary titled Hike With Mahabir was held in Direction Exhibition and Convention Centre on 3 October. The 30-minute long documentary highlighted the struggles of Magsaysay Award winning Dr Mahabir Pun in his effort to provide the remote villages of western Nepal with internet connectivity. By the use of simple WiFi equipment, Dr Pun and his group were able to relay the bandwidth purchased from a local ISP in Pokhara to the remote village of Nangi. The documentary showed how the local villagers benefited from the internet connectivity. It also shed light on the dynamic personality of Dr Pun.

Dr. Mahabir Pun is simply an outstanding personality, a selfless social worker, and an optimist.. He has lived a challenging lesson worthy life of which every Nepali should be aware of.. Personally, he has been inspirational idol of my life.. I wish there were more people like Dr. Pun who can make maximum out of their abroad study to literally transform the lives of thousands of people.. I admire you Dr. Mahabir Pun.. I am very proud of you and so should every Nepali..
