Apple iPod Mini:

The iPod brand has become synonymous with excellent portable audio players and the 4GB Apple iPod Mini carries on the tradition with its fashionable, intelligent design. The earlier device's (the White iPod) strongest design point—the scrollwheel—has been improved to help you navigate menus and music with greater one-handed ease. Best-of-breed design and interface, excellent playlist features, clean, configurable sound; smooth syncing, organises contacts; includes games; functions as an external drive are the good features. The downsides are it doesn't have FM radio or recording capabilities and the battery is not user-replaceable.
Price: Approx. Rs.19,000
Other products under Apple iPod:

Apple iPod 40GB: Rs 29,000

Archos Pocket Video Recorder AV400

The personal video player (PVP) has come of age. The Archos Pocket Video Recorder AV400 builds on the superlative foundation established by the Archos AV320, an award winner. The AV400 has added desirable new features, lost some weight, and learned to work like a VCR and a rudimentary TiVo (not available in Nepal). It also plays MP3 and WMA files like a champ, records live and analog audio, stores data, and serves as a photo viewer/storage unit for cameras with CompactFlash cards. Plus, you can watch two full-length movies before the battery breaks a sweat. Compact and sexy; fantastic screen; ingenious cradle; wireless remote; VCR-like TV recording with program guide; CompactFlash slot; carrying case; removable battery; excellent battery life; resume/bookmark functions; supports DRM-protected WMAs, all good features. Video conversion is little complicated and can muddle your brain. It has only 20GB storage (two full-length movies). Songs aren't automatically indexed and earbuds are uncomfortable.
Price: Rs. 39,000
Available on request- orders at shops in Thamel, New Road and DurbarMarg.

Rio Fuse (128MB)

The good: Small and lightweight; backlit LCD; great software; playlist support; great battery life.

Creative Nomad MuVo (128MB)
The good: Innovative design doesn't require cables or software; 128MB of memory; couldn't be easier to use.
The bad: No memory-expansion option; lacks display, belt clip and rechargeable battery.
Bottom line: People who get frustrated by unnecessarily complicated technology will love this simple, cleverly designed MP3 player.
Price: Rs. 8,000
Available on request at shops around Thamel, New Road and DurbarMarg.

Philips MP3 Key Ring Key003
The good: Small and light; sleek design; solid sound quality; in-line remote control; direct USB connection for transferring data and charging the battery. The bad: No LCD, equalizer, random or repeat mode, or voice recording; paltry 64MB of nonexpandable memory.
Bottom line: Fashion-conscious guys will love the stylish MP3 key ring, but power users will want more memory and features.
