MAKING MUSIC
Lyrics Inthependense “If only I could find and wind the hands of time And fix my broken rhymes Then I would give you nine livmes nine times And if you add it up comes back to nine lives no matter who tries Mathematically reason it does apply. Grammatically speaking the by PRAVAT J GURUNG
Lyrics Inthependense is all about making music that satisfies Yanik and Subba, two friends who thought about making music together. "Hip-hop is raw poetry and it's always interesting," says Subba who started free styling when he was in Boston, USA. Yanik, on the other hand, is very lazy to write lyrics but says Subba has been a big influence for him. "We met five years ago through a mutual friend and since then we've been together creating music and writing what we want," reveals Yanik, who has worked as a radio jockey in the past. Though music has always been in their veins and they love creating it, they choose not to go commercial. "Commercial music is not for music itself but for money and fame," opines Subba but when asked how they would market themselves and get people to listen to their music, they say, "Word of mouth would be the best option. If we get a good producer who will let us do what we want and not tamper with our lyrics and music, we will go with the flow."
Yanik and Subba have recorded three songs till now, which are up for download on our website: www.wavemag.com.np. According to them, all three songs have a lot of negativity but they say it's all about making people aware of the situation that they're living in. Lyrics Inthependense read In-the-pen-dense, is music with hard hitting lyrics and dense emotion. With so much depth and insight into every song, lets hope this is the beginning of a new chapter in Nepali hip-hop.
