To mark the International Literacy Day, a programme was organised at the UNESCO complex in Jawalakhel on 8 September. About 80 children from four different orphanages participated in the program. It was a fun, informal afternoon organised to promote a reading habit among children. The children took part in reading sessions and a special interactive session on topics such as school bullying. Gifts from various organisations were also distributed among them. Sanskriti Shrestha added music to the event with his tabla recital. Yogeshwar Amatya and Urika also performed a few of their songs. The program was organised through the joint collaboration of UNWO, UNESCO and UNICEF.
