The Fete De La Musique, organised by Alliance Francaise de Katmandou (AFK), took the Valley by storm this June. Honouring music day, the AFK organised a three day program starting 18 June on music. The festival started with three workshops on traditional Nepali music, tharu musical instruments and a lecture on jazz. The second day there was a round table discussion on copyright laws in Nepal and how Nepali musicians are being affected by the lack of proper laws. On 21 June, which was International Music Day, there were three concerts that took place in four different places. The rock stage was at Darbar Marg, classical stage at Yala Maya Kendra, a student performance at Nepal Sangeet Vidhyalaya and a children's performance at Gurukul.
