 ANUP PRAKASH
KUNCHHANG MOKTAN
At this sun-drenched time of the year, the big, bold and beautiful shed their layers, emerging in nothing less than the glory of colourful, captivating swimsuits. It's the season to bask amongst torrid rays and cool waters. It's the time to kiss the sun and swim the streams. Summer has arrived and the world awakens and blooms. So, flower up with these beauty tips, especially tailored for the aquatic life.

Protection
Before putting on any makeup, healthy and great-looking skin really comes with the practice of maintenance. Apply waterproof sun block daily, but do not overdose as it will cause your complexion to be extra greasy. A modest coverage 20 minutes before you leave home is sufficient. Also, make sure that the sun block is oil-free. You don't want anything to be frying once you're out in the heat and exposed to the sun's rays.

Face
The magic of summer's beauty is the naturalness of it all. When the big, great sun smiles down on us, nothing beats the revelation of natural, even-toned skin against all that radiance. Apply tinted moisturiser and keep it light whilst at it. Foundation is not recommended as you will be getting in and out of the water. Then, apply bronzer as a blush on the cheekbones. Also dust it across your forehead, chin and the tip of your nose – exactly the way you'll look like after being kissed by the sun.

Eyes
It's a no-no to runny black mascara and raccoon eyes. With the sweltering heat and water, moisture is bound to ruin some of your makeup. So invest in quality waterproof mascara. Then, with gold or bronze colour eye shadow, accent your eyes along the lash line and slightly into the crease. Line your eye with an extra thin line of either dark brown or charcoal pencil and stay as close to the lashes as possible.

Lips
Forget about bright colour lip sticks and swap them for some sheer lip gloss that encompasses your natural beauty. So go for the shimmery light-coloured glosses. You could also stick with a flesh colour; just make sure it has lots of shimmer to it. Still, be sure that what you choose to cover those lips with is ready to protect you from the sun. Choose lip glosses, sticks, and balms that offer SPF 15 protection. The chlorinated water and dry air can also take a toll on your lips by removing moisture from them so make sure you choose something with added moisturisers.
