Pokhara summer fashion

IEC Pokhara organised a fashion show clad along with famous Pokharili female models in Shangri-La Village Resort. Named Kinetic Nova Dezine Flash 2008, this show encompassed the tourism culture and fashion scene of Pokhara in the summer. The clothes were designed by members from IEC centres in Kathmandu, Butwal and Pokhara, and their designs were greeted with great appreciation by the lively audience. Pokhreli models Babina Sharma, Sirju Udas and Bijitaa Bijukchhee walked down the ramp donning attractive, colourful dresses with themes such as Holiday Inn Goa, Red Carpet and Saree wear. The purpose of this show was to highlight the new designs and the creativity of the designers. The designers made clothes out of wooden ice-cream spoons and electrical lights among many other eclectic things. The show was also accompanied by a dance party, singing and dancing. IEC's progress has been commendable, already producing more than 500 fashion designers in the country, and doing shows like this which helps to push Nepal towards the fashion world.
