WAVE Got Mail
I read Taken for a Ride in your September issue and was impressed by what Alok had to say. Thank you WAVE for covering matters that could are eye-openers. There are many in this world who refuse to recognise the hardship of the people around them. Especially in Kathmandu, there are 'privileged' young people who spend their time and money doing absolutely nothing while there are people like Sanam Lama who must fend for themselves in a society that refuses to recognise them. Thank you for publishing such an important issue.

Bravo! What an amazing, amazing issue! I loved it. You people have really done a wonderful job! Thanks for the Green Day poster, they look amazing! Great new informative entertaining stuff, just loved it. I hope you will publish the most gorgeous Angelina Jolie poster (not too revealing or else my mom won't let me stick it) or the cutest smiling one of Brad Pitt, I shall really be obliged.

I am a regular reader and have been reading WAVE for a long time. I like it because it is available anywhere in Nepal. The design and language are great. It would be really cool if the songbook had more chords.

Went through September WAVE and as always, it was fantastic. Congratulations to the new team! Some new sections were brilliant. You did not give enough space to Harry Potter. The interview with Gagan Thapa made me uncomfortable. The way he said, "We must not think that all institutions must shut down just because we issue a press release." It's weird because they burn down places and disrupt innocent lives. They threaten academic institutions and he says, "they must not" shut down just because these so-called leaders issue a press release declaring bandas. And in the next line he says, "But it's got to the point where no one seems to listen unless you use violence." Thapa claims to have read Mandela, who he says, has inspired him. How come he is not adhering to Mandela's principle of non-violence? In my eyes, he's another 'so-called leader'.

It's amazing how much things can change in a month's time. I would love to say 'great start' to the new team but 'best of luck' is all I can offer right now. Not to be too harsh but I'd like to see more interesting edges to stories.

I enjoy reading WAVE. Every issue is special because each gives a whole new insight into the youth of Nepal. I liked reading Gagan Thapa's interview. The Undercover story Taken for a ride was informative.

This email is to say hi and bye to Kashish. I want to thank him for being one of the best rockers I've ever known. It was his radio shows in 1999 and 2000 that helped me discover classic bands like Jefferson Airplane to punk bands like Blink 182. When I heard about WAVE Tour, I was proud that there were Nepalis doing such things. Kudos to Kashish and best of luck.

Why wasn't there anything about the Dharan concert on WAVE's website? August's Freethinking was a thought provoking piece of writing. Who is KDS? In any case, it was inspiring.
