Braving numerous transits, thousands of nautical miles registered plane's distance measuring facility, numerous immigrations and countless hours later, we finally reached our destination: Korea, the host country for Mister and Miss University 2007.

In the next few days, thirty two delegates from sixteen different countries started to arrive. And what an interesting group of people they were! On 1 July, we visited the War Memorial Museum and realized war never leaves anything more than miseries and deaths in its wake. Later we made our way to the Demilitarized zone where we helped to remove weeds from the rice fields as the part of our Peace Project.

And then when it rained, it poured like cats-and-dogs. Though the continuous rain stopped us from doing anything else, it didn't stop us from having fun. We sang, danced and played various games we haven't ever heard of before. We especially enjoyed the football game where all the delegates participated.

On the Cultural Night, we danced to Resham Phiriri and even managed to teach our multi-national friends a few lines of the song. With a summer camp-like feel we passed days singing dancing and getting to know the place and the people and before we knew it the D-day had arrived. On 7 July, we weren't nervous at all, but a little sad. The pain was not due to not being able to win any titles, but due to the realization that our days in Korea was coming to an end.

Next day we had a huge farewell party over red eyes?all of the contestants were crying.  Our flight schedule meant we had few more days of frolicking in Korea which we spent partying. The participation definitely changed us but it felt good to be back home where we could share our experiences of the best times of our lives. Indeed it was a once in a lifetime experience. Sarangaya!
