On 17 August, Dunga Daud, the boat race was held on the banks of Bagmati near Sundarijal. Organised by River Conservation Trust headed by Megh Ale on the annual Bagmati River Festival, the race helped spread awareness of the former glory of Bagmati. This year a number of school students participated in the raft race which started in Sundarijal and finished at Gokarna. The race was entertaining but moreover carried a serious message of river preservation.
