Try
this out. Do a musical experiment among your friends. Mention musical artistes from various genres and see how many of your circle has heard anything about them and their music. We bet they have heard about 50 Cent and the likes, Guns and Roses, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, etc. Throw in a few names like Beethoven, Bach and Haydn and see how many of them give a hint of recognition. (And yes, please deduct points—if you are giving any—to anyone who remembers Beethoven as the St. Bernard dog in the movie by the same name) Those vacant expressions betray it all: they haven't heard a single note of western classical or chamber music in their lives.

Worry not, come 7 October and they will get a chance to know more about the beauty and serenity of the western classical music. How?  The Ragazzee String Quartet are coming to town! That's how. The quartet will be touring the Valley, performing great pieces by masters like Haydn, Glass, Ravel, Mozart, Shostakovich and Elgar. The Ragazze Quartet consists of four young musicians, Rosa Arnold, on violin; Jolanda Streefkerk, on violin; Annemijin Bergkotte, on viola and Genevieve Verhage on cello from Holland. All four are superb musicians whose talent has been appreciated the world over.

So, don't miss out on this golden oppertunity to get in tune with the wonderful world of delight that is western classical music. It's not everyday you'll get a chance like this!
