As she flies high

Noyo Singh is confident. She has amazing body language, is charming and articulate, a rare combination in Nepali models. But perhaps the most significant of all is her passion, another rare trait in our glamour industry. "I'm very passionate about what I do and I think it's my dedication that has kept me going," she says.  

When asked if passion is the missing link in many new models, and the reason that they don't seem to stay too long, she clarifies, "It's a lack of respect and seriousness towards the profession." With constant evolution and knowledge of one's shortcomings, it's not that difficult to survive in this field, she adds.

And evolved she has. All of twenty five, this petite model, in a period of six years, has launched many products and graced even more music videos. If you remember her in Sugam Pokharel's Mero Sansar, it's easy to notice what sets her apart from other models. And yes, it's those eyebrows of hers too.

A true example of knowing the right people at the right time, Noyo's step into the industry was all a big coincidence. It was none other than our very own managing editor Anup Prakash and the lady with the magic wand Merina Dangol of Chahana Beauty Parlour who introduced her to the world of glamour and flashlights. "Anup dai was looking for a fresh face and Merina di suggested that I take up the opportunity," she reveals. "I wasn't doing much apart from studying so I gave it a shot."

Since then, there has been no turning back for her. Or should we say that that was the point when she got infected by the fame virus; a virus so powerful and addictive that it got her parents to change their perspectives on the profession. "Their initial disagreement slowly changed as I made a name for myself. Now they get more excited than I do when I'm recognised," says the headstrong Noyo.

Yet, she feels that with a little more prior knowledge and good modelling agencies for representation, Nepal's glamour field could thrive as well as the one in our neighbouring country. "An association of sorts to fall back on would be really helpful to remove preconceived notions about this field," says the sassy Sociology graduate.

So what is Noyo up to these days? She is flying high with Agni Air as her childhood dream of becoming an airhostess materialises. And with the attitude she has, we are certain that the sky is the limit for her.
