Nepal Sangeet Vidyalaya celebrated its second anniversary on 11 February. The cosy auditorium of the Nepal Music Centre vibrated with a fusion band that combined elements of both folk-Nepali and modern western music. Some audience members were astonished to see the electric guitar and sarangi share the stage together, and this was followed by a funky instrumental track. A must-hear was the school's own take of the jazz song 'Watermelon Man' where the saxophone was replaced by the flute and the tabla also featured. The passion with which the performers played also added energy to the function.
