Hi, I am a 17-year-old boy and I have this titanic crush on a girl. We study in the same class. I think she likes me too but I am not so sure. What do I do?
Dicaprio

Dear Dicaprio,
Muster enough courage to ask her. That's the only way to put yourself out of misery.

I have a close friend and I am worried about her. Two months ago, ever since she met this boy, she has being acting strange. She introduced him to me, I did not like him. He was unfriendly and rude. I told her about how I felt. That is when things went bad. She claimed I was jealous. She also started lying to her parents telling them she was with me when she wasn't. When I ask her what's going on, she says it's none of my business and to keep my mouth shut. What do I do or say to get her back and make her understand that whatever she is doing is wrong?
Concerned friend

Dear Concerned friend,
If you really think that your friend is headed down a self-destructive path, sit her down and talk to her. Also, if you have a mutual friend, who will listen to you and can be trusted, try asking for advice.

I am in the 12th grade and am studying science. My parents want me to become a doctor one day just like my brother. The problem is that my grades are low and I find the subject boring. I would rather study music. No one understands me. Help, I feel depressed.
Depressed

Dear Depressed,
You seem to know what you really want to do, which is more than you can say for most people. Follow your heart and give it all you've got. Why don't you explain to your parents how much music means to you. If they insist you study science even after doing so, take music on the side. You are already in the 12th grade, it will soon be over. If you are a good musician, apply to music colleges abroad. You never know, dreams might just come true.

I just finished high school and am now attending a college here for my bachelor's degree. I want to work, be it part time or full time. I want to enter the media, practice a bit of journalism or even take up RJing. Can you tell me how I could do it? Do I need a training of sorts?
Workaholic

Dear Workaholic
It is best to have some sort of a foundation before you begin working. Getting some training is always useful. However, if you really think you have what it takes and you are good enough to land a job, go ahead and apply. Get your CV, application and samples ready and post them away. You never know when you might hit the right button. Good luck!

Dear readers,
October onwards, LV Brooks, SJ, guidance counsellor at St Xavier's College, Maitighar, will answer your questions. Please send emails to letter@wavemag.com.np with OASIS in the subject line.
