Born 14 January 1984 in Kathmandu.
At home elder sister Pratibha is a newsreader at Kantipur TV, younger brother studies at Shuvatara School. Dad is an accountant, mom a housewife.

Awaiting third-year results of a BA in psychology and sociology from Padma Kanya Campus.
Left Nepal on 16 August to do a Bachelor's in Performing Arts and Dramatics in Gujarat, on an Indian Embassy scholarship.

Started acting in 2001 after SLC. First performance Abhi Subedi's play 'Dreams of Peach Blossoms', "It was staged five times." Studied acting at Gurukul for four months in 2003, also with Fulbright Professor Deborah Meroland, and performed in four plays. "I played a prostitute in the play staged at Lincoln School."

First appeared on TV in the teleserial 'Hostel' in 2003, was offered the lead role of Saachi. "It took me 29 takes to do my first scene." Joined Kantipur Television in 2004 and first worked on 'Tiffin Box'. Then produced and starred in 'Pothi Baasyo', an 87-episode hit comedy show. "I wanted to do some real and simple stuff."

Started Pawankali as a producer and host in 2006, inspired by The Lola Kutty Show on Channel V. Likes when people become nervous about her shows. "Nabin Bhattarai came thrice for the shooting. He said he had sleepless nights because of Pawankali."Is not with Rajesh Hamal, but with another guy.They've been together for ten months and plan to get married after five years. "I had several relationships before him."

Speaks Bengali, Newari, Hindi, Nepali, English, and a bit of Spanish. Understands Tibetan and Tamang, can use sign language.

Can dance salsa and bharatanatyam. Learnt vocals at Do Re Mi Pathsala, but "I wasn't good at it."

Is a shot-put champion, with a 1998 a gold medal in local Junior Olympics.

 Idolises Madhuri Dixit. "I always wanted to become Madhuri Dixit because of her expressions. When Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahati Hun was released, I was disappointed." Hopes to direct good movies in future.
