WHAT'S UP
Summer swimmers
A free open swimming competition was held in Chitwan on 9-10 June. Around 80 swimmers competed in the event organised by Rotary Club of Narayanghat and Chitrawati Leisure Centre. In the 50m style category of juniors, Anil Lama, Kabir Gurung and Sunil Ghalay stood first, second and third respectively. In the 25m backstroke, Anup Bhattacharya, Prateek Acharya, and Anish Gautam stood first, second, and third. Likewise, Anish Gauchan, Kabir Gurung, and Ashok Khadka won the 25m breaststroke while 25-m free style winners were Anil Lama, Tilak Thapa, and Sunil Ghale. In the 100m relay, the top three winners were Small Heaven Boarding School, Manasikshya Boarding School, and Chitwan Boarding School. In the senior side, three gold medals were taken by Kamal Thapa Magar who won in four categories: 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m free style, and 50m breaststroke. Rajendra Khadgi won the 50m backstroke. (Budhi Katel)
