Cricket bat for Kanishka
Australian cricket team captain Ricky Ponting autographed a cricket bat and sent it to Kanishka Chaugain, the Under 19 cricket team captain of Nepal. Australian ambassador Graeme Lade presented the bat to Kanishka on 30 June at the Australian Embassy. "Your performance in Colombo (at the U-19 Youth World Cup) was impressive and I hope you will lead Nepal to a test match," said Lade to the young captain. Ponting had also sent Kanishka a letter which was read aloud to all those present.
