One fantastic album to hit the stores soon is the Miss Catwalk guy Nima Rumba's Huri Batas. Wave had the privilege to preview the album and we think it will surely create Huri batas in Nepali pop scene.

Nima began singing in 1989, when he was in a band called The Bass. In 1992, he was in The Peace. Although The Peace didn't have any album of its own, it did have some hits and awards. Nima Rumba's solo career began in 1993 with album Suna Suna. (Remember that song? Check out Instant Grip Vol. 2) In 1995, he came out with his second album Memories with the ever popular number Miss Catwalk. Miss Catwalk became a huge success mostly because of Nima's on screen performance in the video of the song directed by Bhushan Dahal.

Huri Batas
Nima's Huri Batas will have eight songs in the cassettes and fourteen (with four previous hits) in the CDs. The title song Huri Batas is a catchy flirt song. Its music video will soon be on air. Anjaan Mayalu is a new attempt in Nepali pop music. With no musical instrumentation and all vocal harmonization by the singer himself, it has turned out to be a pretty interesting song. Jaandaichhu Ma Hai Videshma, with Nepali flavour, can be another hit with the listeners.

Sunil Bardewa (Nima's favourite musician, by the way) has done a good job in the album. With both Eastern and Western music elements and clean recording, the outcome is a sleek album. After a long interval, Nima has come to take the town with storm. Huri Batas will surely be the talk of the town in the months to come.
