What is World Environment Day?
World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to raise environmental awareness and to encourage action to protect the environment. The 30th World Environment Day is on Saturday 5th June 2004; it's the year's most important occasion for focusing worldwide attention on the environment.
World Environment Day is a people's event with global participation; previously celebrated with people all over the world by getting involved in street rallies, bicycle parades, concerts, school activities, tree planting as well as recycling and clean-up campaigns. In many countries, this annual event is used to enhance political attention and action and is marked by a global summit attended by important environmental and governmental representatives, held by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in different cities.
Get involved in Environment Day 2004 and do your bit, however small. The more people who take part, the more we can make a real change together.

I may be a villain to movie fans but I am a hero with the environment! I encourage all friends and fans to appreciate and care for the environment and especially to not throw rubbish on the ground. We all need to demand the local Nagar Palikas to implement effective waste management systems and provide dust bins on the streets. This will help us keep our environment clean and healthy so we can have clean, healthy and happy lives.
