The South-Asian Amateur Boxing Championship 2001

Our boxers have done us proud - with 8 gold medals, 11 silver and 8 bronze. Nepal got the first place with a total of 27 medals. Bangladesh was second, Sri Lanka third and India fourth. There were no contestants from Bhutan and Pakistan did not take part this year.

Three students of Elite's Co-Ed School won 3 medals; Raju Ghalay (gold), Bishal Samsher (silver) and Sagar (bronze).

The triumph of our able athletes have made us proud. Neena Morada (founder/principal, the Elite's Co-Ed), chief coach Vidya Marshani and all the dignitaries were ecstatic with the performance of each and every participant.

Soon Bangladesh will be hosting the 19th Nineteen Amateur Boxing Championship.
