The British Gorkha Community Hall recently hosted the Miss Purwanchal 2002. The beauty pageant was organised by Uttam's Creation, Dharan. During the show, students from Eureka Residential School performed a dance and Prakash Poudel, who hails from Biratnagar, sang Timi Ramri Chhow.
The show also remembered the members of the late Royal Family by a candle light parade.

Miss Purwanchal 2002 went to 19-year-old Sagun Sharma. Jarina Shrestha and Chandani Lawati were the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
