International Music Day 2001
International Music Day 2001 June 21st is celebrated annually as the International Music Day and every year Kathmandu also sees a host of musical events organized here in the city.
International Music Fest at the Upstairs:
10 hours of live music-jazz, rock, pop, punk- live at the Upstairs till 10 p.m. That's one the city hadn't seen yet. With music enthusiasts from in and outside the country, young and old, filling up all the space there is at Upstairs, it was definitely a celebration of music with band members from different bands switching places, improvising on jazz pieces, soulful singing and punk rocking with loud distortions, it had to be one of the best music festivals the city has seen yet. Major performers at the event included Cadenza, Rai Ko Ris, and members of Renegades. There were also other younger performers like students of Cadenza, from Elite's school, and Axata (with Kashish).
